Nutrition Specialist III, CEDARS Pioneers Center and Life Skills Programs (Internal Opening)

CEDARS Pioneers Center and Life Skills programs, located at 6601 Pioneers Blvd., serves adolescents ages 13-18 in day/evening reporting and emergency shelter services. Nutritious meals are provided seven days a week, 365 days a year. The Nutrition Specialist III shall be self-motivated, a positive person with strong organizational skills and have the ability to prioritize to meet deadlines. This position will be responsible for menu and meal preparation, meal service, order placement, inventory control, maintain budgetary guidelines, accurately complete USDA documentation, maintain a clean work environment of all food and dining areas and appliances, conduct weekly visits to Food Bank and additional tasks as required. This position must remain in compliance with the Nebraska Food Code and USDA National School Lunch (NSLP) standards. The NS III shall have a high school diploma or GED. College-level coursework in nutrition and food preparation and knowledge of menu planning are preferred. This position requires a valid driver's license with a good driving record as well currently have, or be willing to obtain within 30 days, a Level III Food Protection Manager's permit. The NS III shall be detail-orientated, self-directed and flexible; possess excellent communication skills along with the ability to complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision. The NS III shall work under the direction of several staff and shall possess concrete problem-solving skills. Schedule: Monday through Friday 8a-5p.
