Youth Specialist III, CEDARS Emergency Shelter (Evening Shift)

Will work in 24hr emergency shelter for children ages 0-18. CEDARS Emergency Shelter provides a safe and developmentally appropriate care environment. The structured program includes aftercare and follow-up. The YS III is responsible for maintaining safety of youth, most often between the ages of 10-18 on the evening shift. This is a staff leadership position which requires delegating and assigning tasks. This position may include transportation to/from appointments, activities and visits. The YS III is responsible for daily documentation of behavior of youth in care, crisis intervention, providing structure for youth, assisting in school work, developing and facilitating groups, engaging youth in positive activities, along with other duties as assigned. This position requires a high level of organization and will be responsible for assisting with the training of new staff members. A Bachelor's degree in human services or closely related field is required. At least one year of experience working with youth and families is preferred. A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required. Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday 2:30p-10:30p, Thursday 1p-10:30p, Friday 2:30p-9p and Saturday 2:30p-10:30p.
