Will work in emergency shelter providing a safe and developmentally appropriate care environment for children ages 0-18. The structured program includes aftercare and follow-up. The Youth Specialist II is responsible for maintaining safety of youth, most often between the ages of 10-18. This position may include transportation to and from appointments, activities or visits. The YSII is responsible for daily documentation of behavior of youth in care, providing structure for youth, crisis management, assisting in school work and engaging youth in positive activities including life skills instruction, along with other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree in human services or closely related field is required. At least one year of experience working with youth and families is preferred. A valid driver's license and good driving record are required. Schedule #1: Sunday 2:30p-10:30p, Tuesday 2:30p-10:30p, Wednesday 2:30p-10:30p, Thursday 1:00p-2:30p (staff meeting), and Saturday 2:30p-9:00p; Schedule #2: Overnight Awake - Monday through Friday 10;30p-6:30a; Thursday 1-2:30p (staff meeting).
