The Foster Care Program is designed to serve children birth to 18 years of age whose needs can be met in a structured, nurturing, specialized foster home environment. Foster families who are trained, supported and supervised by CEDARS professional staff provide the program services. The Family Resource Partner will be responsible for the retention and support of foster parents and youth placed in their home. This will include but is not limited to home visits, service planning, relationship building and training. This position will be responsible for supporting and encouraging foster parents in their development of relationships with biological families. Strong knowledge of trauma, attachment disorders, developmental disabilities and mental health issues is preferred. Will assist in the placement of youth placed in foster, emergency or respite care and be responsible for ensuring compliance with state foster care rules and regulations. Bachelor's degree in social work, human services or closely related field and a minimum two years of work-related experience are required. Must possess a genuine interest in youth and families, be sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the clients and families CEDARS serves, have excellent computer skills, a valid driver's license and a good driving record. Schedule: Primarily Monday-Friday 8a-5p; will include occasional evening and weekend hours to meet family needs; required participation in on-call schedule.
