Family Support Services include completing tasks to coordinate services based on a case plan developed by DHHS or Probation. The Family Support Specialist (FSS) will assist with child and parent interactions and help families gain the knowledge, skills and tools they need to successfully achieve their case plan goals. The FSS will assist families in areas such as social and relationship skills, as well as the use of appropriate coping skills to manage behavior. The FSS is responsible for supervising visitation for families, will observe and document circumstances of the visit, as well as provide coaching and mentoring. Staff will also provide necessary intervention during a visit if the safety of the child is in question. FSS work as part of the overall family team to improve family functioning and assist the family in their goals for permanency. FSS will provide transportation in accordance with referrals received. Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, human services or closely related field is preferred. Prior experience may substitute for the degree. This position requires a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Schedule: Full-time, flexible; days, evenings and one weekend day are required.
