Family Partner, CEDARS Prevention Services (Lincoln, NE)

The Early Childhood Family Partner (FP) works within the CEDARS Prevention Services team, focusing on supporting families with young children within the 68503 and 68504 zip codes. The Family Partner strives to support and encourage new parents, focuses on teaching parents about developmental milestones, utilizes curriculum to provide opportunities for parents to support and bond with their child, offers opportunities to socialize with other parents and utilizes quality assessments to track the growth of their child. The Family Partner (FP) provides primary case management functions. The FP will provide home visits and will be available outside of those home visit times to provide support and advocacy to the families. Family Partners provide information on child development, bonding, discipline, health issues and community resources in order to reduce stress for new and expecting parents. The FP will build a trusting relationship with parents and ensure the development of the most relevant family goals utilizing the family's strengths. The FP will focus on educating parents with a set curriculum that includes activities to enhance bonding and attachment, as well as information on child development and other relevant topics. The FP will provide developmental screenings throughout infant growth, as well as parental assessments throughout services and will provide appropriate referrals to support continued growth and address concerns. The FP provides assertive leadership to assist parents in navigating and accessing services and resources in the community. Other duties include meeting specific timelines and adhering to all administrative duties as dictated by CEDARS Youth Services. A Bachelor's degree in human services or closely related field and a minimum of two years of experience working with families in crisis is required. Knowledge and experience in case management is strongly desired. Applicants with diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
