Dr. Don Belau, a nationally certified school psychologist and licensed independent mental health provider,
will be offering two opportunities for CEDARS employees and foster parents to learn about the complex behavior of Self Harm:
Friday, November 7th from 1-3pm @ the CEDARS Pioneers Training Center
Tuesday, December 9th from 6-8pm @ the CEDARS Northbridge Community Center
Dr. Belau is the Director of Master of Arts in Counseling Program at Doane College after serving 32 years as the Director of Treatment at the Nebraska Health and Human Services’ Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Geneva and resides on a number of national and state mental health boards and committees, including serving as co-chair of the Nebraska State Suicide Prevention Coalition, co-chair of the Nebraska Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors (LOSS), Clinical Director of the Lincoln-Lancaster County LOSS team, and Clinical Director and board member of the American Association of Suicidology.
Self Harm is a difficult behavior to support and heal from. We have received MANY requests for a training on this specific topic and Dr. Belau is one of the very few in the nation to train on it. This is the training to attend!
